5oo4 20K Member Celebration Tour

5oo4 Patterns is celebrating 20K members in their pattern group.  Wow!  I’m sitting here wondering how that even happens.  How amazing is that?!  I’m sure many of you are thinking I’m a crazy lady joining a tour right during the finals week of Project Run and Play.  I’m partly thinking the same thing myself, except for the fact that I’ve had this top made for this post for probably over a month now.  However, I somehow mixed up my dates and thought I had several more days to snap photos and I didn’t.  Agh!  I actually wore my top to school yesterday, so I set up my background and snapped some photos to share with you.  Check out my version of the Weekender Tunic, and then enter the Rafflecopter Giveaway for some amazing prizes!

I stitched up the Weekender Tunic pattern.  I have to say it’s a perfect comfy wear shirt, but you can also make it with the right fabric to be able to get even more wear out of it.  I paired my sweater knit version with some skinny trousers (the pants are pull on because I’m a fan of those right now.) for a comfortable look at work.  I grabbed this sweater knit from JoAnn’s back in the fall and have been waiting for just the right pattern for it.  It’s so, so, so soft and this pattern was a perfect match.  So comfortable, but can be dressed up if needed.  The neckline of this pattern calls for you to turn down, press, and stitch to hem.  However, because I’m a rebel I left the neckline raw.  I have several shirts that I’ve bought over the last year with a raw neckline like this and I am kinda loving it.  It’s even more comfortable left raw.  A perfect comfy weekend choice.

This pattern is a loose fitting drop shoulder style.  It has several options that you can choose from.

  • Short sleeve and long sleeve options,
  • Loose and skinny sleeve options,
  • Thumb hole cuffs, hemmed sleeves, or rolled sleeves,
  • Hood, funnel neck, crew neck, or scoop neck options,
  • Placket with lace up detail, and
  • Regular hem, High-low hem, and banded hem options.

I chose the skinny long sleeve option with the crew neckline and the high low hem.  I would definitely say this pattern has a lot of ease.  If you measure and are between sizes, I think sizing down is the best route to go without any problems.

My overall feel about this shirt…. I could probably wear one everyday.  It’s loose, comfortable and can be dressed up or down depending on the bottoms you put with it and how you style.  It actually reminds me of several shirts I have from Express that I wear pretty regularly.  In fact, I could probably lay a few out side by side with this one and you wouldn’t even be able to tell which one was the handmade version.  I love that!

I hope you will take some time to hop through the rest of the tour celebrating 20 THOUSAND members with 5oo4 Patterns.  There have been a lot of cute makes and there is a diverse selection of patterns being featured.  After you scope out the creations, head over to the side and utilize this sale code to celebrate along with 5oo4.  Use the code SOBIG for the 40% off your purchase.  How awesome is that?!
