EYMM Mommy and Me Tour

It’s Mother’s Day, and isn’t that a perfect day to celebrate a little Mommy and Me sewing?! I’m so pumped to be joining in on this tour to celebrate the fun people can have with their mommy and me patterns.

If I had my choice of what to do on Mother’s day I would choose to lounge around the house all day in comfy clothes and just chill with my girls.  Inspired by this thought, I stitched up the Free Style Harems (see the Mommy and Me Bundle) in comfy knit fabrics. For both Mommy and Me versions I chose the capri length with cuffs and the plain waistband.

For the little girls I used a light weight thermal for the main fabric from Girl Charlee and for the waist and cuffs I used a cotton lycra from Persnickety which is no longer available. (My oldest has decided to take a modeling break, so she isn’t pictured in this post. I suppose I can understand wanting a break from the camera, so I’m cool with that.)

For my comfy pants I used some of the super soft double sided knit from JoAnn’s that I have had on my shelf for more than a year.  I’m glad I used it for me because it is sooo stinking soft! I played around with the waistband on my pair and used one piece of 2 inch elastic instead of doing separate casings with smaller elastic.  I definitely think it helped to speed up my construction time, so don’t be afraid to keep that as a possible option. These pants sewed up pretty quickly.

Well, we are off to church, or already there depending on when you are reading this. When we return I will again throw on my comfy pants and enjoy some time of relaxation and continue celebrating the awesomeness of being a mother on Mother’s Day.  I hope you enjoy it too!  Be sure to keep up with the tour and check out all the fun mommy & me creations.  A great way to celebrate the holiday!
