Fall Jacket with Raspberry Creek Fabrics
I made this adorable light jacket a few weeks ago and shared it all around on social media, but never officially wrote up a post. I used fabrics from Raspberry Creek Fabrics as part of their promotional team. I used a Grey Lightweight Twill found here, and a print from this year’s fall line on rayon found here. I really wanted a Joy Jacket from Chalk and Notch, but I just can’t talk Gabriela into drafting a girls version. I have tried. After a bit of looking around for something similar to the Joy, I decided on the Spring Showers jacket pattern from Elegance and Elephants with some slight modifications.
I’m usually a quick sew type of girl, so I really had to give myself a goal to get this finished. The thing about more complicated projects is that they always make me feel so accomplished when they are finished. I was really pleased with the way this turned out.
Presley volunteered to be by model with the stipulation that she would get to hold this little puppy purse in some of the photos. It’s really just a sunglasses case an doesn’t match at all. But, a mom’s gotta make deals sometimes.
Overall, this pattern turned out quite nicely. The sleeves are designed to be long, which I like because it leaves room for growth. Hopefully I’ll get several seasons out of this. The fabric choice has a nice drape and is soft which my girls enjoy. It’s stylish and still offers some nice coverage for those fall temps we had a few weeks ago. I think we will get some good continuous wear out of this jacket.
