Raspberry Creek Fabrics + Tami Hoodie = LOVE

I was recently selected to be on a promotional team for Raspberry Creek Fabrics.  Raspberry Creek Fabrics is an independent fabric shop that not only does retail sales of popular fabric brands but also prints their own fabrics and designs.  What I love most about this company, besides the excellent customer service and quality product, is that is was built by a family from small beginnings in their home through an Etsy shop.  Over the course of 8 years the business has grown and expanded into a household name in the sewing community.

My role as a team member is fairly simple.  I get newly designed fabric sent to my house and I get to sew it up as samples for people to see the fabric in “real life” rather than on a small design square.  It really helps give people an idea of what the fabric they could be ordering looks like in real life.

For my first round of fabric, I was offered the opportunity to select a pattern sponsored by several different designers.  When I saw that the Tami Revolution Hoodie was on the list of options I jumped on it immediately.  I’ve been eyeing this pattern for a LONG time.  I love the double hood and it has so many other features I’m interested in trying on my next version.  I selected the large floral print first, and then found the coordinating yellow dots in the shop.  Both of these fabrics were printed on french terry, but are also available in jersey knit.

For this Tami I selected the double hood option, classic length, and sleeve cuffs.  It came together perfectly without any issues.  I printed, cut, and sewed it up in one evening after the kiddos were in bed.  For the next round I’ll include the zipper, inseam pockets, and the cool thumb hole modification that is found on the blog. (This is the sleeve that is shown on the cover photo of the pattern.)   I am also aware that this is a slightly fitted sweatshirt.  There is a chance that I would grade out to the next size to give my waistline a touch more room.  It’s just an area that I would be okay having a little less fitted for myself personally.

Overall, the fabric print is showcased nicely with this pattern.  The large scale floral is something I would use again.  I mean… I’m the floral girl so I’m not sure I could turn it down.  Be sure to check out all the new creations from the Promotional team in the Raspberry Creek Fabrics Facebook group.  So many good creations!
