Sewing Portfolios with Michael Miller Fabric

Summer is FINALLY here! It’s as though I had gone missing and finally found myself again. I have been sewing quite a bit, but haven’t posted as many creations as I’ve been making to the blog. I need to do quite a bit of catching up.

Today’s post is representing a partnership with SewingPortfolios.com and Michael Miller Fabrics. I’ve been able to work with Sewing Portfolios to get better connected with people in the sewing community. This is in part due to being selected as a Diamond Ambassador. I’m looking forward to seeing what other opportunities this brings with my blogging journey. If you aren’t familiar with SewingPortfolios.com be sure to check it. If you are a blogger, pattern tester, or just interested in getting started in these things this could be a great way to build up a portfolio and get your experience organized and documented.

Today I’m sharing two looks I’ve created to showcase a new fabric line from Michael Miller fabrics. Abloom by TamaraKate is shipping out in less than a week from today!! June 15th is the official kickoff date.

This line features two main color ways. The first highlights pinks and oranges of different shades and tones. These are shown in the top and short set I made. The top features Color Underfoot. I was able to pair this with the leaf green Gossamer. I wish I had gotten a better image of the shorts because they are a great look for summer.

The patterns used in this set are two I love and have used quite a bit. The Top is the SisBoom Kelsey and the shorts are the Satya Pants and Shorts pattern from Jennuine Designs. If you are needing a nice fitting pair of shorts, these are one of my solid go to patterns.

For the dress, I pulled a fabric from the green and blue side of the line, Grace. Grade is a beautiful floral. If you know me, you might already know that I typically stay with florals as my main fabric of choice. You could probably say floral fabrics are my love language. The pattern for this dress is the Little Lizard King Amsterdam.

The multi-tones of colors within the flowers add extra depth to this fabric. It’s great standing alone, but can easily pair with other fabrics as well. Overall, these creations both ended up in our bags packed for vacation at the request of the girls. In my books, that makes them a win.
