Spring Break PJ Party: Something for Everyone

PJParty4

Yay!! Spring break is here for me, and almost gone now.  I’m so excited to be joining in on this HUGE blog tour. Bloggers and designers from all over the globe are joining in on this spring break pajama party.  My kids and I plan to stay in our pj’s everyday of break as long as possible.  This means everyone is going to need some new ones because I believe in making laundry, not washing it.  Can I get an Amen?!  Be sure to make it all the way to the bottom of this post, there are all kinds of giveaways for this tour! Don’t miss out.

This pajama party was about using sewing patterns from my digital stash rather than buying anything new.  I do love the Alex and Anna pj’s from Peekaboo Pattern Shop, however I thought it would be more appropriate to use a patterns that I have never sewn up.  I decided to go with Create Kids Couture Tansy’s Knit Pajamas because it has a lot of options and is a pajama pattern.  This pattern includes bottoms at any length, shirts with multiple sleeve lengths, and gown options for both short and long versions.  Basically, you could sew up all your pajamas year around with this pattern.  I was slightly sad that there were no printing directions to help reduce the number of pages print, but I made it work.  I do like that the sleeves all have cuff options.  I’m all about using cuffs whenever possible! It saves time and always looks nicer on my projects.  I NEED a cover stitch machine!  I did size up on all the pajamas I made with this pattern so that my girls could wear them longer.  If I make some more from this pattern, I will probably not do that.  The fit was looser than I expected and I think they would have done fine without the sizing up.

Each of the twins selected their own style.  As expected, one requested a gown while the other wanted pants and a shirt.  I ordered fabric from Raspberry Creek Fabrics to use for these new pj’s, but I somehow forgot to submit the order and by time I discovered my error it was too late for it to arrive in time.  I still plan on using my new fabric for pajamas, it will just be a bit before I get those all sewn up.  I’ll have to share those in a new post.  I did use some of the navy and white polka dots Club fabric I had on hand to give Raspberry Creek a little shout out.

Wrestle Time!

For our spring break party we ate popcorn for dinner, watched a movie, and played on big sister’s bed while she was away on a sleep over.  I think they enjoyed the fun.  This is basically what happens when I try to take photos with both of the little girls together.  Mix the twins in a photo that is inside and there is basically no hope for me to get a photo that is of semi-quality.  I’m working on that.

My children feel it is necessary to eat popcorn with a spoon.  Who does this? It’s like they are eating cereal or something.

We did have some good fun with our party.  I wish we had another week off, I know I could use the sewing time.  A week is just never enough.
