Sunday Lately

Sunday Lately with Blogger Tribe

So…. I’m SUPER late to the Sunday Lately game, but I thought I would hop in this go around for the fun of it.  Sunday Lately is hosted by Katy McKinley and several other whom I would describe at the chiefs of a little group called Blogger Tribe.  There are several themes each week that bloggers post about and then link up to share.  It’s a fun way to get to know people in the blogger world.  So here I go…

The themes this week are: Planning, Loving, Reading, Wishing, and Feeling

Planning:

I’m currently planning for a trip to Disney!  We leave next Sunday and I’m super pumped to be taking the girls to meet some of their favorite people.  I’ve been planning attire to sew up for the trip and I’m far from finished stitching them all together.  It’s going to be a fun trip and the first plane ride for all of my girls.  I’m planning on the plane trip being VERY interesting.

Here is one little outfit I finished for the twins last week.  Snow White is a must see on our princess list!

Loving:

I’m a teacher and love being “off” for the summer.  We have been to the pool, the zoo, on a hiking trip, visited family, had family visit us, and spend every other day that is bright and sunny living in the blow up pool on the back porch.

My sister came to visit from DC with her two kiddos.

We got all the little cousins together.  I give up getting a legit photo of them.

Hiking at Turkey Run State park confirmed we need a stroller at Disney, but the girls had a great time playing in Sugar Creek.

Reading:

Yap, I’m a reader!  I read less now that I sew so much, but I still try to squeeze in something here and there.  I love a good young adult dystopian just like every other middle and high school student around.  I don’t hop into the the fantasy world often, but I started this book today.  It was written by a local author and she had a book signing at our local Barnes and Noble in February so I thought I would support her and give it a go.  I’m just getting started reading it as several students found it on my desk at school and passed it around before I actually got it back. I started Faerie Born today and  I’m a third of the way through. Faerie Born is the first in The Azarian Chronicles. Get it for Kindle for $2.99.  I’m not always into the Fae world (I used “Fae” to pretend I know what I’m talking about.), but I have also enjoyed the Creepy Hollow Series by Rachel Morgan.  Who doesn’t love a strong female lead entangled in a love triangle while discovering she is responsible for saving the world (be it a fantasy one or not)?

Wishing:

I’ve been wishing I could upgrade my sewing machine and splurge on a cover stitch machine too.  The kind of wishing that bleeds into your nightly dreams…None of these things will be happening in the near Disney Vacation future if you know what I mean.  But hey, the theme was wishing and I’m definitely doing that.  There isn’t much more to say about this. 🙂

Feeling:

I’m feeling super blessed to have such an awesome family and three beautiful healthy daughters.  There has definitely been a lot of horrible things in the news lately both nationally and locally.  Sometimes dealing with a lot of sadness leaves you feeling exhausted.  I’m there at times.

Last night I set my coffee pot to start brewing just before my wake-up time.  I’m normally too lazy to do this in the evening.  It left me feeling happy this morning.  The best part of waking up was Folgers in my cup. 🙂  It’s the little things that help us get through the big things.

That’s it for my first Sunday Lately!! Woot!  I’m sure I’ll be back!
