Simple Life Pattern Company Holiday Blog Tour 2019
It’s another year to be sewing up holiday wear as we approach the season of giving, family, friends, and in my case, Jesus. I’m honored to be asked to join in on this annual tradition of the Simple Life Pattern Company tour yet again. It makes me feel like I’m part of the Simple Life family when I’m asked to join in on this tour. My family loves to spend time together during the holiday season, and it seems like it gets harder every year to align our schedules. We eat a ton of food family tradition treats, drink hot wassail, and play a lot of euchre. This year I decided to go with a casual creation for the Simple Life Holiday Tour. In the past, I’ve done more formal looks but I wanted something I could get a lot of holiday use from. Plus, my oldest has basically shot up and has nothing to wear. Check out some of my past SLPco holiday creations Here, Here, and Here.
The holiday tour is full of some of my favorite sewists, plus a great sale and fun giveaways. Use Code: slpcorocks for 40% off during the tour through 11/25! Be sure to hop through all the posts throughout the week and see all the great creations from across the globe.

Sly Fox fabrics sponsored my post with some great fabric. I had never ordered from them before, but my very favorite part of ordering from them was that they sent a little fabric care card that INLCUDED a complementary color catcher to use when pre-washing fabric. I just thought that was amazing. For my look I used three fabrics. The plaid was a brushed sweater knit, the black cuffs were a modal, and the red (Cinnamon) is double brushed poly.
My oldest is turning 11 this month… Can you even believe that?! I think I started “really” sewing when she was 6. For this casual holiday look I used the Isla Infinity pattern for the red top. This pattern really does seem to have infinite options. I used the drop waist circle skirt top option. There is a long, short, and elbow length sleeve option, but I actually prefer 3/4 sleeve so I made an adjustment for that. For the cardigan I used the new Tiegan pattern. Can I just say how excited I was for this pattern to come out? I needed it and it was seriously such a quick sew. Together, I think I’ve got a solid holiday look that isn’t “too much” to wear any time throughout the winter. Do you prefer to go all-out for holiday sewing or do you sew up the items to wear to all your family gatherings?
